Default Make Tires Stickier?

Ok I have heard alot of people wanting to make their tires stickier and I have also heard a lot of peoples recommendations. I am just wondering what you have found to be the best or what you are thinking about doing.

So far the things I have heard have been

Vht Trackbite
Formula V
VP TC6
Sugar Water
Corn Syrup
Dr Pepper or Some Other Soft Drink

So What Do You Think Works The Best And Why???

Nothing really helps a whole lot if your not using a bias-ply slick or radial tire. VHT Trackbite is what my friends and myself have always used, and had great results with it. It helps a little on a normal street tire, but nothing like it does with slicks.

^ +1 on the VHT. We use it rather effectively with ET Street Radials, but it does the most on slicks. My friend alway uses it on his 28x10.5s tires.

The main concern I would have is having it on the tire, go to warm up the tires and have it get all over my paint.

How do you counter that or does it even hurt the paint at all? (sorry, not trying to thread hijack, just curious)

Put painters tape on the outside and inside of the fender to keep it from sticking!

Just spray your 1/4 with lemon pinesol. Thats what me and my buddy used on his low 10 sec. drag/show car. All you need to do when done is wipe the little bit of dots left off with your hand then clean the pinesol up with a clean rag.

I have used pinesol in places of waxes on my bikes for years. It is the same stuff you can buy at the bike shops but half the price. If it is good enough for a bike I am sure it would be ok on a car.

vht for the win, never used it on a radial tire though.., i've used vasoline or vegetable oil wiped on with a cloth to keep rubber from sticking.

Default Tire treatment

Our local dragstrip has a street radial class that runs on saturday nights. No drag radials or slicks, must be a regular street radial tire. We have found that a 50/50 mix of zylene & wd40 works awesome. Put the mixture in a spray bottle, spray it all over the tread of the tires and let it sit for a couple of days. Then do it again and let it sit and soak in. By the time raceday comes around, you will notice right away after your first dry hop it made a difference. Works for us anyway
