Are prostars my only choice for a 15x10 wheel that won't break the bank?

not 15x10 but 15x9 convo pro's is what i have and you have 1/4 the grinding you would have to do with prostars

Great pics. I think I mentioned the Convo pros, I just don't like all the dimples. Too much texture.

Billet Specialties is pretty much it without grinding 3 pounds of metal off.

Prostars are the best option for economy setups. Both ours and Billet Specialties are both over the 1000.00 mark.

Right now, the retail price difference between our non-bolted Bogart F-body drag wheel and Billet Specialties rear wheel is 65.00 per wheel. The front wheel difference in price is 11.00 per wheel. So I wouldn't call either of ours in any different ballpark by any means. Total we differ by 152.00 retail. This would be similar for our street/strip combinations as well.

Difference in weight between our drag Bogart’s and their street/strip wheels is huge. Using a set of street/strip wheels would be like leaving almost 65lbs on your car! This would be just the same as using our street/strip wheels (I don't want anyone to feel I am stating just their street/strip wheels are heavy, ours are heavy as well).

Do the math; using any type of street/strip wheel is going to be a huge loss from rotational mass. This correlates into longer braking distances, slower 60ft times, and slower end of track times. This is why you never see discussions with f-bodies considering using our street/strip wheels. I don’t even list them on the site.

The prostars are probably the lightest economy drag setup that you can choose. Use a spacer on the front and you really don't have to do a thing. The rears you'll have to do some work to make fit. Ours can be built to the lightest direct fit front/rear setup, but they are not in everyone’s budget. An equivalent loss would be about 50lbs if you choose our wheels over a set of prostars.

Not that I would ever want to correct you, Steve, but our Rodlite and Draglite are actually a little lighter than the ProStar because of differences in the center support. Although I know that most people looking for a street/strip setup like the looks of the ProStar.

No no, that is perfectly fine. If I overlooked their weights, I apologize. They are all a very good economy choice in wheels.

I doubt that you overlooked it, the ProStar used to be the lightest of the 3 drawn wheels, but we beefed up the ProStar center support a few years ago and it got a little heavier than the other 2 versions. Always enjoy your posts.
