Here is the story
I had my stock wheels on the rear and CCWs up front. I was heading home to put the stockers up front and put the CCWs away for the winter.
MY original Goodyear RSAs were pretty shot so I was also going to order a set of winter tires and use those for the rest of the winter.
Well it was raining and slick; while I was taking the exit ramp on the highway when the back end kicked out and the car was heading into a ditch so I turned the wheel the other way and did some 360s, hopped a curb, and continued sliding in mud.
I get out and check the car and the body is perfect but my CCW took one for the team
Overall I am extremely lucky, I could have ended up in a ditch, I could have hit another car as I spun across a few lanes, I could have done a lot more damage.

well, IMHO, as a welder, i would say that's an easy fix.
the only thing i can see doing, is dis-mounting the tire and having the damaged area built back up by an experienced tig welder. the only issue i could see is when if was sanded/buffed/polished back up, that are would have a milky or silver-ish color compared to the rest of the wheel. i don't know what an aluminum weld looks like smoothed out and polished....but either way, it should look better than a chunk missing completely.
