Painted Wheels?
Painted Wheels? I was wondering if anyone has their rims spray painted?, not powder coated. The reason why I asked I have torque thrusts on my Trans Am and I'm thinking of spray painting them black just to see if I'd like it. Does anyone have pictures?
I've done my 10 spokes on my SS. Pic in sig. They're getting redone this winter. They've held up pretty well for about 10 months now, but they still chip fairly easy. I would powder them if i wasn't planning on buying a staggered 18x7 and 18x10 setup within the next year. I wouldn't paint your TTII's though imo, unless they are in sad shape. Powder the spokes black, and you'll be lookin good

Search and you'll find a bunch of pics of painted rims. Check out my album, I had my TTII's centers painted black the 2nd week after I bought them (5 years ago). I just recently painted the entire car and had the centers painted to match.
Just make sure you properly prep them and use etching primer!

My painted snowflake wheels..
I painted them 3 years ago but took my time with prep to be sure they would last. They have through 2 sets of tires in that time. They have a couple chips but nothing serious and I'm still running them now.

Old pic up close... Had about 7 months and 4,000 miles at this point, still holding up. Again they're getting sandblasted, and repainted this winter. Probably all black.

ya prep is a very important part in the process. if you dont have access to a sand/media blaster, then you can pick up some aircraft stripper at the local parts store. here is a few of my process...
its hard to get it all... but with enough time and patience, it can be done good. but after doing all that work, i would rather have them powder coated than painted
