here's a tire question... I've been told skinny treadles tires are the way to go for the 0-1mile at the Bonneville Salt Flats. the 130 & 150 club require you to reach and hold either 130, or 150 by the time you pass the 1mile line in 3 consecutive passes( if i remember from reading right)
my questions:
*what is the narrowest size rim / tire that could be best used on the rear?
the skinny's used on the front of most drag cars, are they speed rated?
^^ if speed rated,could they be used on the rear?

I could be wrong, but I think that GoodYear makes a specific tire for Bonneville use. Just my opinion, but I would think that while skinnies for drag use are "speed rated", they're probably not rated for "sustained speed", like a 2-3 mile run...
When I was at the flats last, I spent a lot of time in the pits. One guy had wide tires on the back of his car. He said they were great, because he could give it more throttle without spinning. The high powered cars that run full skinnies have a hard time, they spin like crazy. From what I saw, I'd run skinnies up front, and something like a 245 on the back. Just my two cents.
