what about lightweight kmember and a-arms, and battery relocated to the back, and any other things to lighten up the front.

We are defintely moving the battery to the trunk...

So it looks like I'll probably go with the 15" Bolted RT Bogart's - 15x9.75 out back and 15x4 in front. Now I have to figure out which tire will work best for me:
BFG DR: 275/60/15 or 315/60/15
Hoosier: 275/60/15 or 325/50/15
MT ET Streets: 27/10.5/15
Suggestions? I'm leaning towards the BFG's (will the 315's even fit?) because they may be a bit more streetable then the other two and provide me with enough traction. Who makes the tires for the front? Thanks again for all your help!

Maybe I should do the 28x12.5-15LT MT ET Street. I could also go with the M&H 325/50R15 DR.... Too many darn choices!

Do you want great traction or just some traction?

Even when I drove around on 28" slicks I had to roll out at lights I could smash the gas.

I want good traction. I just want to make sure I am not spinning out all the time. I don't need to be able to floor it in first gear or anything (although that would be nice), I just want to have a safe amount of traction so I can enjoy driving around this car. I would like a compromise so I could use the same wheels/tires on the track as I do on the street. That's one of the main reasons I want to go with the 15" wheels. A tire that can potentially get me into the deep 10's and still be somewhat safe to drive on the street would be VERY cool.

i think you're gonna be pretty well limited to slicks here. gigantimus BFG's or nittos would be cool too, but for what you're talking, it's gonna be crazyness either way just keeping it in a straight line gettin in the throttle on the street.

From what I was reading on the BFG site, their drag radials have beed on 8 second cars. That's kinda why I was thinking the 315/60-15 BFG. But I guess it all depends on the car... Maybe the Hoosiers, M&H, or MT Streets would be best for the street, then.

One thing I noticed no one here has mentioned... Are those damn clouds that leak that wet stuff they call rain lol. I assume you avoid rainy weather like the plague, but I have heard some not so nice things about bfg's and the rain. On the other hand Nitto's do fair in the rain.

On another note... What about corners etc? I would assume if you want to drive it on the street your going to want to go fast around corners and the like. Again I would stick with the Nitto's.

Honestly I think your situation is just going to be restraint and keeping Mr. right foot in line. hehe.

Ultimatly, you are correct. I'll have to be very restrained with the throttle... Just trying to allow myself to be a little less restrained. This car will never (I pray) see rain. I'll make sure I don't drive it the 5 days a year it rains in L.A. Cornering is very important, another reason I was thinking the 15" BFG over the ET Streets and Hoosiers. Still waiting to hear what MMS recommends about this.....

If your going to keep your foot out of it, you could just keep the FM5's, those are some pimp rims...

Thanks - the reason I went with new wheels in the first place was to get the 17x11 so I could run the Nitto 315 drag radials for this setup. Little did I know we were going to go so high on the HP, otherwise, I may have gone with the 15" in the first place. The wheels only have maybe 300 miles on them. Maybe I should just get the 17" ET Streets and be done with it - it's definitly the simplest solution.....

Sorry to keep beating this dead horse but...Would it be possible to NOT use skinnies of the fronts and just put 15x10 Bogarts on all 4 corners? Then I could run a wider tire on front that might make daily driving a bit easier. Or would this just be, well, stupid and I should stick with skinnies?

Well if you plan to always be driving on the street, stick with the FM5's and put the 17" Et street on it....

If you want 15" rims all around....you need to be lower than 10" for a width...

I guess what I'm getting at, will the 15" with the BFG 315/60R15 give me better traction then the 17" w/ the ET Streets? I know the 15" with the ET Streets will, and I'm assuming the 15" BFG DR will as well, but I just want to make sure. The BFG DRs may be able to give me the best of both worlds - safe enough traction for the street and enough traction at the strip to get me (or a better driver :-) into the 10s....
