Mini tub time
I have a 1984 transam that i have rebuilt from the croung up. I have nothing on the car that is not new pretty much. Well a while back my friend bought me some corvette wheels 18's. 8.5 in front and 10.5's in the rear (thanks 00vert-z) well i purchased the tires for them and i went with 315-30-18 bfg g force drag radials. Well in order to get this to fit on my car i had to use 2" spacers all the way around. I do not have a issue with the front but in the rear the spacers make the tires stick out about 3/8". So what i have decided to do is a mini tub. I looked on the web for information on this and did not find muck with the information needed to do it yourself. so i decided to take a week off of work and grow some ***** and jump on it. I have started on the pass. side of the car and cut out the old wheel well at the seam and all the way back to the flat backing plate. the issued with these cars is the section where the seatbelt is bolted to and the section where the bump stop is. these two areas is wht the car needs to be tubbed. i cut the bump stop off and this gave me another 3/4" to 1" at that point and getting rid of the seatbelt frame will give me another 2"+ at that point. i have been taking pictures and writing notes on everything i have done and plan to post everything here. if you have any questions or feedback on this project please reply. if you want to be a dick and just give me hell find somewhere else to reply thanks
