okay, i was wanting to run a 315 and not the 305 (i know, not the biggest difference) on my 18" rims. And MT only makes the 315 in a 30 and not a 35.

would the 305/35/18s hook better than the 315/30/18s? just for the street, and a little light track duty here and there. cornering isnt an issue.

also: wouldnt a taller tire be better for drag racing?

how much of a difference is it really?

check the specs, if im not mistaken by some weird differance, the 305's have a bigger contact patch then the 315's by half an inch, and the extra sidewall, and if your running the common 18x10.5 that i am the 315 wont work.

As for wear I have some 315's on 9.5 ZR1's with 5 passes (dead hook every time with constant 1.6 60's) and over 1000 miles and they still look brand new.

So, you mean to say you love those tires so much, you litterally sleep with them.

I use M/T DRs 295x45x17s and I have 5200 miles and 39 passes at track. Tires are right at top of wear bars. I also do go on trips of 150 mile on expressway. So I think they wear and hook good on my car.

Look on MT web site for heat cycles, they are the ones who make the tire!
