Default Tire recomendations??

Ok everyone I have been looking for a nice set of tires for a while now but none have really sparked my interest. I have found some nice ones but their a little too pricey. I liked the BFG g-Force KDW, but for $253 a tire nooo.

So, anyone have a tire they would recomend to me? I don't plan on driving the car in the winter.

Sizes Front 245/45/17, Rear 275/40/18

Thanks for your help

Nitto 555 all around.

i had a set of kdw, they were awful in the damp/wet and not as sticky as the 555's were in the dry.

Not to disagree with the above post but I think the KDW is one of the best general-purpose street tires on the market. Way better than the F1 GS that I started with and better than the GSD3s I have now.

Not to hi-jack the thread but in what aspect are the KDWs better than the GSD3s. I'm planning on getting some new tires this summer (275-40-17) and was set on the GSD3s because I thought they were the best all around summer tire out but have also considered the KDWs but they seem to get more mixed reviews.

I've got GSD3s and they rock. Outstanding dry and rain performance, quiet. BUT, there isn't anything on the planet that is worse in the snow. As in cannot make the car move forward on a flat surface if there is snow on the street.

Flat? pfft.. I have GSD3s and I couldn't get the car to move on a decline the other day.

Other than that they're awesome. Great dry traction for a street tire.

Well, they are a summer tire so i guess that is expected. I'll probably go with the goodyears.

Ok so now I have these choices, BFG KDW's, Nitto 555r's, or the Gooodyear GSD3's but the 555r's dont come for the 275/45/18

That is the tire combo I have the bfg's in front in a 275 and the nitto 555r in the rear in a 315 and it handles like a champ.

I got the g-force sports as well this summer, and I like them a lot. From what I understand its the same compound as the KDW but with a different tread pattern and a bit cheaper.

I have to agree with this. They are awesome for dry and wet handling, decent for dry straightline acceleration(not as good as a drag radial of course), and awesome for wet straightline acceleration, but they do suck in the snow!

I've been running GS-D3s for over 3 years and love them but will probably go to a drag radial on the rear for the strip, or just swap out to a spare set of wheels with DR/slicks.

Its lookin like I'm goin to do Nitto 555's for the front and Nitto 555r's for the rear, I couldn't decide which looked better so I chose both

Any other combos??? I was thinking of the GSD3's but there a little too pricey, the BFG KDW might be another possibility but idk, I m lost again
