differences between various z06 rims out there I'm in the market for rims for my 99 formula, and I concluded that the z06 are the best balance between price, width, tire selection and weight. I scour this and few other forums for opinions on how they work, which ones exactly to get, where to get them from, etc. I still ended up with few questions:
1. AFS kits go on ebay for a very good price. They usually sell them in a set of 4 18x9.5's, which is not the z06 set. Does this mean they made a true copy of the z06 rears, or is this a cheap/heavy knockoff?
2. I saw some 18x10.5 z06 tires on sale in few places. Is that a normal option, or is this yet again another knockoff?
3. Can the 18x10.5 fit both front and rear? How is the selection of tires? Does anyone have them mounted on a transam/formula? Which offset is the right one?
5. So which one of these things (z06 oem, afs 18x9.5, the 18x10.5) is the best (aka best weight/price) ratio?
4. Last but not least: where to buy them from?

Re: differences between various z06 rims out there the stock Z06 wheels r 17x9.5 and 18x10.5... so any other size is a "fake"... what size u get would depend on what size tires u wanna run...

Re: differences between various z06 rims out there 18" tires your have a rather small selection of tires, although they manufactures making them are growing.
For a 9.5" wide wheel go with a 275/35R18
For a 18" x 10.5" I'd recommend a 295/35R18 but many run a 285/35R18.
Where to buy, your choice. Your aftermarket selection is HUGE. Find the best price and use people's recommendations. And now who offers the best selection of offsets.
Find an offset that is equal to or just a little less or greater than 50 MM. Say between 48 and 53.
I know Todd at Discount Tire sells a good selection. I got mine from www.aaarims.com but there are many others.
18" x 10.5" have been installed on the front of F-Bodies. I beleive Todd is running them, but IMHO are too big for the front.
