dont know much about sizing.
Will these tires fit my stock 2002 WS6 wheels:
Nitto 555 drag radials 315/35R-17 102V ????
My stock tires are 275/40r17 is this the only size that I am limited to choose from for those wheels? or can I go larger?

Your stock wheels are 9" wide. Normally the max I would go is a 285, a 295 can be done on a 9" wheel also. I have seen 315s fit on stock wheels but I would not recommmend it. Also you will probably run into fender/wheel well rubbing. The width of the tire is much bigger then the width of the rim which causes the tire to "bulge". A 10 or 11" wheel would be much better suited, but to answer your question, yes it can be done. I would just go with the 275/40/17s, they will do you fine, and will fit inside the fender well with ease.

Thanks for the awesome response. Very well said. It makes sense. As far as tire rubbing a person on the forum says it shouldnt happen as he has the same sized tire on the stock 9" rim with his car lowered and he doesnt see that problem.
I dont know about the tire bulging but it does sound scary. lol.
Anyone tried this with the stock wheels?

Your welcome ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
As for the above, some people have problems, others don't. Seems hard to believe that he fit a 315 tire on a 9" wheel, and had no rubbing issues with a lowered car.
But ok, I still say go with the 275/40/17s. The 315s will bulge on the stock wheels, the 275 will look better, and you won't lose much if any traction.
Good luck,
Rob

I have the 315's and no problems.... I was told that they would "sway" but I haven't noticed ANY. I do think they bulge a little much for my taste. I don't like the 17x11's with the 315's but I do beleive a 17x10 or 17x10.5 would look better.

sorry for the late response.
"BAD *** TA WS6" and "The Guy in MY 99TA" thanks again.
I guess if Ill have to stick with 275s with the stock rims ...
its sucks because the 315s look so much better because of how wider they look![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
They look that good:

but ofcourse he has them on 17X9 wheels in the front and 17X11s in the back.
wait a minute. Little confused here.
"The Guy in MY 99TA" why dont you like the 17x11s with the 315s? (scratching head)
Just curious, if I were to go 315s how wide should my rim size be to be ok?
Again sorry for the late reply.
