We apologize for the miss-communication on our end. Nitto does certainly produce their NT05 Max Performance in size 285/35-18.

Nitto does not however, produced their NT05R (Drag Radial) in the 285/35-18 size.

My NT05's mounted on 10.5 10 Spokes and a shot of the 1.5" diff between the 315-35 and the 275-40's
Thanks to DIscount tires direct, gave me a great deal and shipped for free.

Anyone else got some real world tread life figures on these? I'm debating between these and the Continental ExtremeContact DW in 275/40/17. Anyone else cross-shopped these?

I know I'll give up some performance with the Contis, but they sound like a good overall tire. If the tread life is that much better I may just go that route. I plan on doing a couple track days this year though - that's why I keep coming back to the Nittos.

Of course Discount Tire has these at the exact same price right now, so that doesn't help narrow them down either. Decisions, decisions.

Not at this point. Nitto does make the NT01 in the 315/30R18 size.

do I need to call Nitto up and knock some sense into their heads? A good sticky tire that is affordable in 315/30/18 needs to be produced. I like in Savannah, where it'll be sunny one minute and pouring rain the next, I can't exactly run a drag radial.

You could try to do that, or give them several thousand dollars to make new molds...

You could try writing them an email: http://nittotire.com/index.html#index.contact

The NT555s handled fine in the rain. I can't imagine these would be much worse.

Just wondering because they dont look like they have many grooves devoted to rain lol. Looks more like a drag radial haha

Check out the first link under reviews in the OP.

As with any Max Performance tire (lower tread depth), wet traction will slowly fade as the tire wears.

Tread design looks promising for street and strip, will be going on some ZR1s. I am running the 555's right now on 19's, and am very happy. Lookin forward to testing these out, and am running Nitto's on the car and truck.

Good G35 link write-up
Extra 5% off??? off of the online price or are you saying the DiscountTireDirect price is 5% lower than the Discount Tire price???
