Default 275/60/17s - 9" wheel or 10.5" wheel width?

Topic pretty much says it all. I'd like to run 275/60/17s and I'm not sure if a 9" or 10.5" wide wheel would be better. I'm currently running 275/60/15s on a 15x8" wheel so I'm assuming that either would work fine, so is there any reason why I'd want to go with one or the other? Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, some googling didn't turn up anything too obvious, and thanks in advance!

why do you want a 60 series tire? i assume you're getting new rims, stick with 9 and a 275/45/17 tire and you'll be fine...

275/60r17 is a truck/SUV only tire. And it's 30" tall.

Wow, yeah... 60 series won't be good. 275/40/17.

M&H makes a drag radial that is 275/50r17 which is a 28" tire just like the 275/60r15 is a 28" tire. M&H calls for a 9" wide wheel. General accepted practice is that you can go + or - from the recommended rim and be fine. So really it's up to you one whether you want to run a 9" wide wheel or 10" wide wheel. 10.5" would be to large in my opinion. Call M&H and see what they say though.
