Default tires for a 7 inch rim

What tire should I get for a 17x7 rims? Im trying to lighten up the front end and was looking for either a 205-50-17 or a 215-50-17. I have 275-40-17 witch is 25.63inches tall. I think the fount should prob be the same height but I not sure.

The car is a weekend warrior/DD that makes 440ish hp and will have a 150 shot. It has full front drag suspension minus a k-member and will be getting a full rear suspension and a fab9 with a spool soon.

I believe the guys are using 215 tires on the Billet Specialties 17x7" Street Lights. Seems to be a nice tire and stock height (or close to it). 205 would be about 1/2" shorter then stock.

Look in the Billet Specialties thread, there's some pics.

I'm planning on running:

17x7" with 215/50/17 in the front.
17x9.5" with MT 295/45/17 ET Street Radials in the rear!

Should make a badass street combo!

205X55X17 on BS 17X7. I like the narrower look, the tire as I recall is 26" diameter.

I think I light the narrower look and the slight weight advantage or a 205 vs a 215 to but the prob is that a 205-50-17 seem the be right at around 25" tall and the 205-55-17 seem to be about 26" and the 555r dr I have are 25.63". so will I be better off with a half inch shorter tire in the front or a half inch bigger one. There are a lot more options for 205-50-17s to

Check out the General Exclaim Ultra High Performance in 205/55/ZR17, I paid around $90.
