DR's at high speed?
and I never had a problem. Mine were BFG, maybe some brands are different, I know the Hoosier DRs aren't recommended for highway driving. the 555r2's would seem to be perfect for high speed freeway runs... but they have reinforced sidewalls which do not flex and they are NOT drag radials.
right now i'm on falken rt615's on front (not a drag radial or even an r compound tire, but pretty sticky with reinforced sidewalls) and kumho victoracer v700's out back (r compound road race tire with stiff sidewalls).
i'm pretty happy with the v700's, but you gotta heat them up to make them sticky and even then, they won't hook for me at WOT with my 3600 stall 2.5str torque converter. but they do grip pretty good rolling into the throttle and much better than the falken rt615s... so i'm thinking about going with 555r drag radials in the rear. only thing is that these tires i'm running now are very, very nice for high speed cornering and exiting corners with a good amount of throttle - and that's not something i want to give up.
but back to the DR at high speed - i think you want the Nitto 555R (not the r2).
i don't know how well they're going to handle above 140mph, but then again, its not like you have much sidewall there anyway.
All tires are on a stock 17 inch wheel.
