Fitment

Hi, newbie here. I'm purchasing 5-spoke Chrome ZR1 rims for my '01 Camaro SS. The measurements are 17x9.5 with 56mm offset, will these fit ok? Also, will the 5-spoke "SS" center cap fit the ZR1 rim?

The size is fine, you'd be better off with a set with a 50 mm offset. The 5 spoke Camaro wheels share the same center cap.

How do the 50mm and 56mm differ? I mean besides 6mm, lol. Is there a differance between the ride and fitments? I forgot to mention that these are the ZR1s made for a CORVETTE, not just the style made for the Camaro, that's y I'm asking if the SS center cap will still fit.

It is more of an "appearance" issue. The 56 mm will fit fine w/o any problems. The issue is tha the wheel will mount 6 mm further into the wheel well than the "Camaro" version, now granted it isn't even a 1/4" difference, but can be noticable. I personally like a "full" wheel well look, and getting the wheel with as small an offset possible, will accomplish that.

oh okay, so it will look like the tire is a bit higher into the well? Is that what you mean? What about the SS center caps, are the interchangeable between the SS 5-Spoke and the Corvette 5-Spoke? What about rims with a 38mm fitment? Will those be better or just try to find 50mm?

Not higher but "deeper" into the wheel well.

The SS center cap should fit just fine.

A 38mm offset on a 9" or 9.5" wheel will fit very nice. My Fikse FM5's are a 38mm wheel, fill the wheel wells. The only issues you'll run into, especially on a lowered car, will be at the front the tire will gently rub the black inner fender liner (no biggie), and in back the passenger rear tire could make contact with the wheel well lip, causing some gouging on the corner of the tire tread. This could be easily fixed by rolling the quarter panel lip.
