Help! Im confused Can someone explain to me why et streets are bad for corners, when people like NASCAR use Slicks around their tracks? Do the Grooves cause it to get squirley on the et streets?
Also, anyone have any info on the Sprtsman pros by M/T?

The slicks that Nascar and other road racing cars use have a totally different sidewall and tread compound.
Drag tires have a soft sidewall (sometimes called a wrinklewall) to absorb some of the energy when you launch, and then snap like a rubberband and uncoil, launching you forward as the tire rebounds.
Road race slicks have a stiffer sidewall to assist in cornering (less flex). As far as tread, any tread would probably melt anyways at the tire temps that these cars are seeing, plus a flat piece of hot rubber is more adhesive than a grooved piece of rubber, IMO.
M/T Sportsman Pros are a decent street tire, but they don't hook to well. You'd be better off with a Nitto or BFG DR, IMO.
