Default Nitto NT555 vs. Kumho Exsta XS

Which would you choose for a DD?

They cost about the same, but i go to the track alot. Im leaning to the Kumhos because ive hedumdumdum they hook good for a street tire. Im just worried about how long they would last.

What do yall think?

I like the Kumhos man, in my opnion they also look better than nittos, beside the width section which is normally wider on Kumhos when compared to same size nitto. Nittos run narrow. That's my opinion but over all they are both good, if you're more into track go Nitto, if more into streets, go Kumho.

the kumho xs will be in a different catagory than the nittos.
the kumhos will have more grip and wear faster and will be worst in the rain.
nittos competition with the kumho it there nt05 that just came out thats close to the same price as the 555 and from what i know nitto fixed there narrow issues with the nt05

the kumho ecsta xs is a 180 treadwear rating which will give you much less tire life than the nt555, but more grip.
nt555 is 300, so you'll get the most miles out of the nt555. nt05 mentioned above is nice, but a 200 treadwear rating.
i'd personally go for the nt05. i've had 200 treadwear tires (falken azenis rt615) last for a good while, but i like to get the tires off the car before too many miles (10k for me) due to heat cycles hardening the tire and reducing grip.

how many miles do you want out of your next set of tires?

Maybe 15k. Im worried about driving with the NT05s in the rain though. Its not a big deal, but thats why im looking at the 555s over those.

I mostly just want a street tire that hooks better at the track than the Sumitomos i have now. No DRs.

I've got the 555s and I like them a lot. 275s and 315s. Only thing I've noticed is that I'm not used to the amount of tire dust that kicks up on my freshly painted car from those meaty *** 315s lol.

Nittos have been proven time and time again, I've just not heard Kuhmo doing the same...
