Default ET STREETS on a 17in zr-1 rim???

Hey guys has any one tried an ET STREET not the radial on a 17x9.5 ZR-1 rim. Will this fit on an ls1? I know its a 26 inch tire but are there any problems with fitment? Also how do they perform? I'm asking because I have 17x9.5 zr-1 with the MT et drag radials and they wont hook for ****. I have seen ET streets hook like crazy on the street. I went to the track last weekend and with my Et drag radials I was only cutting 1.8 and 1.9 60 ft spinning trying various burnouts and various tire pressures from 20 down to 10 psi. I switched tires (same day) to some ET Streets and cut 1.6 and 1.61 60 ft times. I think the bias ply tires work better on my car but will those 17 in tires work for me? My buddy had 15 inch tires and rimes with the ET streets that worked for me.

Its impossible to say whether they will or wont work on your car. I do know that M6 cars like ET Streets more than radials typically. But a 17" ET street wont work as well as a 15 or 16 simply because of the shorter sidewall. Is your car an M6? I have some 16" ET streets and I've cut a few 1.5s on them but my car is an auto. They are for sale if you're interested.

Agreed. The stiffer sidewall of a Radial constructed tire doesn't absorbe the shock of a stick shift launch as well as a Bias-Ply ET Street tire would. Sidewall is always good. The more of it you can get, the better chance of hooking you have. If you don't want to run a 15" drag wheel, I'd pick up a set of 16" stockers to put some ET Streets on. Before I had the wheels in my signature, I had Weld Draglite skinnies up front, with stock 16x8s out back, and used 26x11.5-16 M/T ET Streets.

I have 26x11.50R17 on the Fikse's now and almost lifted a front tire they stuck soo hard. I think they are great, even for a 17" tire.
