What are the widest tires I can fit on my wheels?
I just bought some '09 Corvette wheels. Front are 18x8.5 rears are 19x10. What are the widest tires I can fit on the fronts and rears? My friend who has the same wheels has 265/35/18 on front and 295/30/19 on rear. I want wider if possible.

I have both 295 and 305/30-19 Michelin PS2s on 19x10 C6 rims.
The 295s are about 11.5" overall/section width mounted (they are usually advertised on a 10.5" rim at 11.9" wide).
The 305s are about 11.7" overall/section width mounted (they are usually advertised on a 11" rim at 12.2" wide).
So you are not gaining much with the 305 tire. To look at them sitting right next to each other, they are so close in height and width you cannot visually distinguish them and say "those 305s are wider".
However, they are so close in weight, were not difficult to mount, look good on the 10" rim, and ride fine with no issues... they are certainly an alternative to the 295, since BOTH sizes are plentiful as cheap/used/decent tires on ebay (OEM Porsche rears, about $550 NEW).
I would lean towards the 295, though, to further insure ease of wheelwell fitment, even if only by a small fraction. I currently have no fitment/rubbing problems (1.5" spacer/adapter, Koni shocks, extended bump-stops) with the 305 rears, insisting on the slightly larger rear tire only to try and give the car's stance a slight hint of 'stagger'. I BFH'd the wheelwell bulge 'just in case', but did not roll the fender lip.
