Default Fitting a 325/50/15?

im planning on running a 325/50/15 nitto on a 15x10/6.5bs summit star.

Car is a 98 formula.

Might be a lil different on a 'bird with 6.5" BS, but on my Z with 7.5" BS I needed adjustable panhard bar & LCA's, roll the fender lips, lots of hammer swinging. If you're lowered much, it's worse. I had to remove my pro-kit rear springs and put stockers back in with the isolator removed to get enough clearance on the outer lips. Of course you've got lots of grinding on the brakes to do with the 15" wheels.

Good luck. You're going to have a blow out real soon with that tire on a 6.5" backspace wheel. My 325s rub a little with 7.5 backspace, and fenders rolled. I can't imagine having 6.5 backspace. That would be asking for an accident.

How do you figure im going to blow it out?

I have stock springs with isolators removed as well. I would think on the firebird it would fit easier especially with the 6.5. I thought the only issue i would have was the lip..

Anyone else have some pics of tires they have run on this wheel?

Ty for the input tho guys.

If your a stock length rear with a 6.5 backspace that rim/tire is going to stick out an inch. With that combo you will most likey have clearence/rubbing issues.

6.5 is the wrong backspace. Even if you had the correct 7.5 backspace i thing that size tire sticks out to far for my taste. That tire is Huge with the a backspace that isn't correct i think you'll have issues. Only one way to find out mount it up and see if it'll work.

Well like I said. My car is on stock rear springs, and my 325s rub with 7.5" backspace, and cut into the tire. I can't imagine how a 6.5 would be. I wouldn't try it. Why not just buy a correct wheel for the car?

You get what you pay for. If it were me (which it was, I was in that situation at one point in time) I would (and did) opt to save up for the correct fitting 15x10 wheels.

Another thing is im in school and with the wheels i would be pretty content with the car and would be calling it quits on mods for a good while.

I have a wet kit some sfc a few other things to install and ill be done. One less thing to spend cash on and one less thing taking up school time you know?

I really would like to find someone who has ran what i have.

Im pretty sure the stock suspension peices would work right? the only question will be when launching and the lip rubs correct?

You arnt telling me anything I don't know. I'm a 19 year old full time college student in law. And yes, they will rub whenever you launch, or hit a bump. Mine rub just driving and hitting little bumps, with stock springs minus isolators.

The goal is too hook a with the spray. Its a bolt on car 4.10's 3800 stall and a nx 150 wet kit.

You think the 275 will do it? I really would like to do the bigger tires. Looks but also i think they will make a big difference trying to hook on the street with the bottle.

Camaro396 well at least where in the same boat lmao

Just get a good tire. You could have a huge street tire and suck on launch. When people swap over to a drag radial, they think they need a bigger tire than they really do most times. You don't have to go huge to hook, just learn how to launch and you will be fine.

Also another reason for the bigger tires was being able to stick with a 555r rather than going to the mt to help with tread life because i really dont track it much i pretty much race one the street ( no judgments or speeches needed)

Im running a 315/35/17 nitto 555r now. Not having problems right now really but i could launch harder and certainly need more for the spray

Good freakin luck with that. Most of the people on here know how stupid it is to race on the street. That said though, the nitto hooks alot better on the street than the mt would or the nitto would at the track. Reverse it though, your gonna get better hook at the track with the mt when you do go. I think you would do fine on a 275/60, if you need a 28" tire. If not, go with a 275/50.
