Default Skinnies up front. Need alignment?

I have 15.4s up front and my steering wheel shakes. Is this normal with skinny tires or do I need a new alignment with these? Thanks.

I would have them balanced using the lug holes. A good tire store should have an adapter to balance this way. That is how they will center on the car. This may take all the vibration out of it. A wobble as you described is usally a balancing problem.

get them things balanced properly, then worry about getting an alignment.

I had no issues with mine, but I had them balanced when installed.

I've heard of this a quite a few times now regarding balance issues with these cheaper wheels (Summit, Jegs, Racestars) The ol' saying you get what you pay for never goes away.

I ran 15x4 summit stars for a few years, no issues at all. Like others have said, sounds like they are out of balance.
