Default wheel studs not going on!

well I broke a couple wheel studs on the front passenger side. Well I hammered them out and bought some new studs, and can not get them in! I first tried hammering them in, then I tried putting a open end lugnut on it and impacting it, still nothing. So then I tried the big daddy breaker bar, and ended up breaking the stud, but it still wasnt seated all the way.. Any ideas?

also I measured the width of the old and new, they look to be the same.

The way did it was put some washers on the stud with an open ended lug and just wrench them on until they seat.

I put a stack of about 8 washers over the stud, then an old lugnut and just pulled the stud through. This was with an 18V cordless impact so it doesn't have a ton of power. It helped to heat the area around the stud with a torch for about 15 sec first, without doing this my impact would not fully pull the stud through.

Well I got pissed off and I have a totaled z28 that I used the engine and trans to swap in another car. I just took the hub off of it and put it on my car.. Problem solved! I got 5 lugs again!
