Unhappy Detoxx tire blowout

Ok so I am officially pissed. Today is my birthday and on the way home this happens to me. Rear passenger tire completely blew out . After coming home and getting a stock wheel to put on and drive home me and my friend discovered a nail it my tire. I'm thinking that the nail had been in it for a while then once I started driving on it it blew. I've calmed down since the initial event but its an expense that could have went somewhere else.

Now my question for you guys is can I replace just this one tire or would it be a good idea to replace both rears? I bought these tires last August and put maybe 6500 miles on them since. Pic is from my iPhone so its very crappy. Help me out and oh yeah I know its dirty but my time has been very limited lately so sorry.

The CCW is okay. The tread on the other tire is good.

I would think to get 2 new rear tires. Get the same tires that you have now. That way if it happens again, you will already have an extra tire. Maybe by then the tread will be the same. Sorry about that man. At least the wheels didn't get messed up!

Ouch that's ugly. At least the wheel didn't get messed up and you didn't end up with losing the car into a ditch or something when it blew.

Yeah the good thing was I was driving around time and not on the interstate. Its also gonna give me a chance to take them all off and clean them while I wait to get a replacement shipped.

I'm probably gonna get one for now and then a few months from now i'll get another for a spare. I didn't know you were in Slidell.

that sucks, from what ive been told your always supposed to replace both tires on the same axle other wise you could cause rearend damage. if you got the means buy two then use the other as a back up.

Woah thats a crazy way for a tire to blow. Good thing the CCWs are alright, how did the bead of the rim not get destroyed?
