Default Tires?- Need Input

Just finished shredding my BFG Comp T/A's last night and in the market for some new tires. My wheels are AR 200'S, 17 X 9.5. What is maximum tire width for my wheels? Want a tire that will be used primarily on dry roads, cornering control is my main goal with the occasional hard launch. Have checked out the BFG G-Force TA Kdw, Michelin Pilot Sport, Toyo Proxes and Dunlops- haven't been able to find the new Goodyears yet. All these tires are pricy, but can deal with that- just want something that can hook up and give me decent wear. They need to have an aggressive look also- the more radical, the better.
I know I will open up a firestorm of debate on this subject- but that's why I'm here- No BS- just real input. Thanks in advance for your responses- Everybody
have a great Turkey Day!

You can get a 315 on a 17x9.5 wheel, but it looks retarded. I'd stay with a 275.

The Yoko AVS Sports are a decent tire. They aren't the best hooking (not the worst either) but you will get good tread life.

I've been impressed with how well the Kumhos 712s hook. Not sure about tread life, but the are inexpensive.

i've got 295 supercars, and they look absolutely perfect, no ballooning, but looks great behind the car. i agree though, i would DEFINATELY not go higher than a 295, as it is close as is with that. i don't know how a 315 fits on a 9.5 wheel......like half the tread isn't even touching the ground!~!

What about the Kumho Ecxsta MX? The C5 guys love these tires, they are cheap but very sticky.

The more radical, the better? Then it's these. The 285/40s will fit, but I think the 295/40s are too tall and would scrape when turning. There are pics of the 275/40s on my AR200s 17x9.5s in gallery 1 here: http://users.adelphia.net/~fly2002transamws6

Default Decisions- Decisions

Hey,
Thanks for all the input and especially for the pictures. Those GoodYears are looking sweet. Agressive design. Seem we have the same taste in styling our cars- the AR200S look real good on the red car- retro & slick. I think they really compliment the cars lines. Going shopping tire shopping tommorrow- Baby needs new shoes!
