If i can pull back to back 1.9s on Goodyear F1s in a pullied F150 Lightning, i dont think 1.7s are completely out of the question for a F-body with a good suspension setup. I have yet to take my A4 to the track (Cam, full bolt ons, Perfomabuilt Level 2, and their 4k stall with 1.69str) but i think i could probably see 1.8s on my Nitto 555s. I know on the street, the traction is suprisingly decent.

if you all are able to cut 1.6,1.7,1.8,1.9

i dont understand why a soft compound tire was ever invented.

How the hell do you cut those times on street tires? that is really unbelievable.

I just got my new tires today. I went from 245/45/17s to 255/45/17s General exclaim UHPs. Hopefully the bigger sidewall and extra .5 inch width will hook a little better. I really want to get wider rims so I could run those new 275/40/17 Nitto NT-05s, supposidly they are very hard to spin.

BTW, I saw a skittle (Neon SRT-4) timeslip searching online that was 1.992 60' with the general exclaims, so I figure a real car (RWD) could do a lot better.

track prep.
i don't have a roll bar, so when i don't feel like driving over an hour to the closest 1/4mi track just to get kicked out on the first run, i keep a jug of VHT Trackbite in the trunk of my car

If there are guys runnin 6 second quarters on 10.5 inch slicks, i'm sure 1.5 60' times are possible from an F body on street tires with the right knowhow and testing. One thing Id be wary of though is trusting 60 foot times from some of the backyard drag strips with cheap *** timing systems.
