It sucks but they are in a super competitive market that has seen incredible amount of saturation/competition with in the last 4-5 years with the fourth coming of several new manufacturers to the high end wheel game. The world of high end wheels has also changed substantially since Fiske's founding in 1992.

True....This was driven by a number of aerospace contractors having a lot of excess CNC capability, due to some of the military budget cuts. Machines don't really care if they're making aircraft parts or high tech wheel centers. Mix in some company owners who are also car enthusiasts, and BINGO, another 3 pc. wheelmaker.

Company's unfortunately do this all the time. The builder who built my house and a lot of subdivisions around here went out of business about 3 years ago. A lot of people who put down 10k - 20k on their house were just out that money with nothing to show for it. Fortunately I was not one of them.

Wow, this really sucks! I ran something over and damaged 2 wheels a year ago. I sent them back to Fikse to repair them and everything went great.
I wonder what I would do if this happened to me now?

I think I ran over a BIG wooden block, like 4" x 4", at 65 mph. No way to avoid it. I'm lucky it didn't tear up anything else on the car. This was on the way home from the 2008 Hot Rod Power Tour. After driving 3600 miles in 1 week I was just lucky it happend about 15 miles from home and can you believe the tire did not even go down! My Hagerty insurance paid for the whole thing though, didn't even have to pay my deductible.

Kind of late to the party here....
I don't know for sure, but if you look at some of the latest batch of "big buck, high tech, show and go cars" that have been featured in the mags like Hot Rod, Car Craft, etc, there have 2-3 new names mentioned as performance wheel suppliers. However, I don't recall those names being tossed around 2-3 years ago......

Boze has been making alot of wheels for big budget older cars. They have been around a long time though.
Fikse's designs were a little behind times though. They looked and functioned great. I loved the stepped lips back in the day, but I think reverse lips are alot cleaner.
To keep up with today's market, you have to be willing to make the flashy looking three piece wheels also. I can see how they went under when you have companies like iforged around.
I'm not bashing them, i have owned three sets of fikse wheels. All of them nice. My favorite was the 19" profil's I had on my Z06, they were super sweet.

HRE has a new 560 line, sizes start at 18 inch...which kinda sucks...but they are a few hairs under 1000 per wheel. This is still a bunch of money in my opinion, but it's the cheapest HRE's you can buy (entry level 3pc from HRE is what they are calling it). The 'r' lip is a reverse lip and the 'c' lip is stepped.

I love fikses so in one way, I'd probably pay more now since my options are significantly lower. But at the same time...no more fikse to repair wheels, so i would think that some guys would stay away b/c you can't get replacement parts. I'd just be very very careful.
Replacement barrels probably aren't a big deal, but centers...not happening.
