I ran a 295/35/18 BF Goodrich tire up front for over a year with no issues. As people have said add extended studs put a small spacer on the front to add some extra clearance on the upper ball joint and really rubbing was never an issue. Here is my car lowered and all with the 18x10.5 rims.

I sold them and bought a set of HRE and now wish i had waited and bought them with a 19x10 up front instead of 18x9.5 Heres what it looks like now.

When i got my wheels and tires i actually used two 3/16" spacers (to make 3/8") and tried it(just to see what it would look like) and it looked TERRIBLE, it stuck out completely, even on top. The way i have it now is as much as id ever like it to stick out.
Here's mine:

And heres a couple from my phone i took real quick:

Car also has konis and stranos waiting to go in. This is my street setup. That is the only bad thing about these wheels, theyre cheap, heavy anchors, Not to mention running the wider tire up front.

That looks good murderedout, let's see some more pics. I was thinking the same thing too, that a 1/2 inch spacer would make the wheel stick out way too much. But it might only be too much with the car at stock ride height. When the front end is lowered a fair bit, the wheel often looks like it's sunk inward at the top quite a bit so the spacer might make it flush with the fender. I'm only running a 275 on the frt with no spacers at stock height and the clearance looks fine with the narrow tire. I can see why someone wants massive tires on the front if it's a track car, but IMO, a 315 on the front would look wrong.
