In that guy's defense:
-'93-'02 Firehawks, '96-'02 WS6's, and '96-'02 SS's all came from the factory with 17x9 wheels equipped with 275's.
-C5 Vettes (Non Z06) have 17x8.5 fronts with 245's and 18x9.5 rears with 275's from factory.
-C6 Vettes (Non Z06) have 18x8.5s in the front with 255's from the factory.
-C6 Z06's have 18x9.5 fronts with 275's from the factory.
275's are generally accepted as the correct tire width for 9-9.5" wheels as 255's have been for 8.5" so you will get heat about it no matter what you say so I would just ignore everybodies opinion.

Umm, no he's not stuck in the 21st century. I think it looks odd too, as well as other have noted. I have 285s on my car, and they have that same look. It just looks like the tire is too narrow for the wheel. You don't want a convex look, you want the tire to look just as wide as the wheel.

Well let me educate you. I see you don't like to read but I mentioned earlier in the thread the tire is WIDER than the wheel. The rim is 241.3mm wide and the tire is 255mm wide. This is just the shape of the Vredestein tire. The 295 on the 10.5 rim looks the same way on my dad's car. The rim protector in the pictures don't do the tires justice in real life.
The actually tire is wider then your wheel. But the tread width is not. That's why if you put a 315 on a 9.5", it bulges, that's because the tread width is wider then the wheel. And in your case, it's smaller, so it does the opposite.
The rim protector will be the same on any wheel the tire will fit on, even a 11" wheel. Because the protector is so close to the lip of the rim. The sidewall is stiff enough that it doesn't allow it to deflect enough to cause exposure of the lip.
Nice work on educating me.

If in your opinion, you dont like the way these tires look on these rims, thats fine with me. Your opinion, however, does not change the fact that these tires fit these wheels and the car perfectly.

Bro I would just let it rest, everybody is going to bitch about it because it's not the common tire size choice for a rim that wide. All that matters is that you like it! And you do so that's good.
