Default Anybody Tried the Nitto NT05 Tires Yet?

I was initially thinking about the Invos, but from a couple consumer report online reviews I've read (not sure if I should pay much attention to these), the Invos seemed to get poor ratings.

These new NT05 tires seem to be a solid compromise between a drag radial and a good street tire.

Anybody tried these yet?

I've had invos for a couple months now. They wear great, much better performance than stock F1s.. but with 495rwhp it lights them up in 1st.. 2nd hooks.

I just bought NT05.

invos are harder so they will last longer and come with more tread (deeper grooves)

the nt05's are a softer compound but not as soft as drag radials and have more tread than drag radials but it's not much tread either... if you want something that is going to last longer than a drag radial but not go up in smoke so easy get the nt05's... i have not used them personally im going by what people have told me, and what i've seen at work. hope this helps good luck with your purchase... oh fyi there is a whole thread in here about the nt05's incase you didnt know, there might be some info in there if you search that.

Ha, well that was 5 months ago when I was looking for a different tire. I actually traded for wider rims that had new BFG KDW's on them, so I just stuck with those for now.

I picked up some BFG DR's on another set of rims for the track or the occasional night of racing.

I will be purchasing a set of NT05s for my new wheels. Seem to be a good compromise between a drag radial and actually lasting.

I've been driving on NT05's(285/35/18) tires for 5-6k miles, very impressed with them, performance wise and thread wear. They hook almost as good as Nitto 555R's when warmed up and hook considerable better than any street tire I have used (Goodyear F1's, BF T/A's, KDW's and Nitto 555's).

As stated, a good compromise between a sticky tire that doesn't have to be replaced every 5k miles and can be driven in the rain.

Also Invo's are a little harder and the Vette and Viper guys love them as a street tire. Can't really go wrong with either.
