Any pics of 285/40/17 tires on 17X9 wheels??
I don't even know if they will look noticeably wider enough to notice in a pic, but I'd like to see them if anyone has some good pics.
I have 275s now and I'm thinking of doing 285 all-around (or at least out back) next time.
TIA.

I've got Kuhmo Exsta MX 285/40zr17 on my factory 5-spoke SS wheels, front and rear. Unfortunately, I don't have my digi camera with me. If I can get my hands on it soon, I will post some pics for you.
Are they noticeably wider? I don't think so. Just a hair wider and a hair taller. When I change them again, I will probably just put the 275's back on. The 285's look a little tall for my taste (although that could have just as much to do with sidewall and shoulder design change as it could the size change).
For what it's worth, I have no clearance issues. I am lowered with a prokit and can thurn the fronts to full lock in a u-turn and get no rubbing.
good luck
Jeff

Great info. If you are able to post some pics, that'd be great. I could compare them to pics of my car side by side. Since my car is not lowered, that is one of the reasons why I think a taller tire might look good. And wider always looks better, even if just a tad. Glad to hear there is no clearance issues up front.

I went from the stock 275/17 to 285/17 on my rear two rims. Be careful... it took NTB more than 8 hours to get the last one mounted.
Your best bet is to go to a shop where they put the rim and tire in a cage and pump in air until it seats. If there isn't a cage they arnt allowed to go over 75 psi (NTB went to 100 psi and it still didn't help).

Good info guys. Perhaps I will reconsider. It'll be a while before I actually have to buy new tires anyway. I'm always just looking ahead...
Thanks.
Thanks.
