Default what is a good tire size/type?

Whats a good sticky tire that is good on the street? I want something that has good wear life also and not ourageously expensive.

I have the stock size 16 inch wheels with the stock wimpy 245's

Whats a good tire size to move up to that wont be too big but look pretty aggressive as well as grip good in the spring/fall/summer.

btw its a 1996 firebird Fomula

got a set of sumitomo's and not too impressed, they are suposed to be "extreme performance" with a 380 treadwear and it will still go sideways on a conservative launch.

PS. they were the only ones i could afford that were available in the sizes i needed, for some reason i wanted them all to match, now i'm wishing i would have got the nittos for the rear.

I was getting ready to post the same question, I have a 16x8 inch wheel with 245 Kumhos and they are terrible. Always fishtailing and losing traction, and up in smoke without even launching. Someone mentioned Riken Raptors. Im in for advice also.
