Default skinny tires on snowflakes

i want to run the skinniest tires i can on the front of my car i have 8in. wide snowflakes and the guy at the tires shop said he could run a 205/50/16 on it without a problem...thats a bit skinnier but every bit helps...is there any reason i shouldnt do this...? its like an 8.04 inch tire or something (less rotating weight)

I think you can run 205's on the snowflakes. One of the stock options was 215's. Personally I run 225/60/16 on my snowflakes with winter tires. I like keeping some width for dry traction and they still cut through the snow with ease. I've been running this size for 6 years and have never had a problem on snow / ice.

But to answer your question, I'm pretty sure you are able to run 205's, but IMO that's a little too skinny for the 16x8 rims.

im just tryin to cut down rotational weight and since i have to buy new tires anyway i figured why not go as skinny as possible.
