Default Need a good 315/35/17 street tire.

I'm looking for a good street tire thats not going to wear out too fast (at least 10k) or so, and is deffinitely under $200. The hoosier/MT's are out of the question b/c of price as is the NT01 nitto.

I have htrzII's right now and they suck a fat one.

Here's the ones im looking at from tirerack I've narrowed it down to these 2 tires based on price and availability. (315 is harder width to find tires for)

~BFG- g force t/a drag radial 2.

~Nitto 555R Drag radial.

This car will never see snow, and will only see rain if I get caught in it.
Please let me know what you guys think, I'm also open to other suggestions too !

BFG hands down...will last 10k miles and gets good grip on the street. Nittos are glorified street tires IMO

Ya I was leaning toward the bfg's also, My dad has them on his big block torino and they hook pretty well.

Does anyone know where some more 315 sized options are? I want to explore the market until i make a final purchase.

Other than your original 2, the NT05 R drag radial is gonna be your only other choice in something that grips like a drag radial for under 200 shipped.

The Kumho XS and Nitto NT05 will be better in the curves, but won't hook as good in a straight line. They're also over $200...

BS. The Nitto Drags work great on the street unless your making 500 plus rwhp. They will also last around 25k. Mine did and I drove the **** out of it.

We went with the Toyo Drag radials and they are as wide as the BFG's we had before unlike the Nittos which looked streched on, and they seem to have really good traction so far. Check onlinetires.com, we went to Discount Tire and the manager beat there price for us. I dont make 500+ hp but it puts down 460 to the tires...

I have BFGs on my street car and love them. They hook good, and are fine if you get caught in the rain, however I don't think you'll get 10k out of them.

I have 555's on my rears. Non DR's. They still hook allright for a street tire, but i wanted them for the mileage not for a hooking tire. They've been great tires so far, i've got about 3k on them and they look brand new. I picked up the pair for $375 on fleabay.

Thanks for the input guys,
I'm probably going to end up with the BFG's.

camaro396- how long did your bfg's last on the cobra ?

If I could get 2 street seasons out of them i'd be happy its not my DD, only nice weather/weekend car and I'm just looking for something thats going to hook decently, last for a bit and isn't going to break my wallet.
