Default Skinneys- Bias Ply or Raidal

Im wanting to do a 17/15 drag set up and later get some 17s for the rear..

Plan was a 17x5 or 6 up front and a 15x10 in the back. I will be running a slick in the rear..(6 speed)

Would this be an issue if I ran a raidal up front and a slick out back?

Iv talk to a lot of people that say at the top of the track the car will float in the *** and be tooo stiff in the front

Im really limited to M&Hs 17in front and its really for a 4in wheel. I like the hoosers 26x7.5-17 they offer or something like a 205/45/17 in like a BFG or something good..

If you are going to run something wider than a 3.5" on the front I would say go with the same as the rear.

I've ran a Radial up front on a 15x3.5 and a bias ply in the rear and didn't notice a difference going to a bias ply front. Being that the contact patch is soo small on that size of tire I doubt you'll notice a difference.

I've noticed lots of walking and instability on top half of the 1/4 with a radial front tire and bias-ply rear. With a bias-ply front, you can run either a bias-ply or radial rear tire and not have any issues. Maybe look into the bias-ply older style firestone tires that the corvette guys typically run on the front of CCW dragpacks?

Why dont you just run a 15 in the front also? Just curious, what slick are you going to run? I run a 28x10.5 mt with tubes and it drives just like my drag radials did up top unless i have them down around 10 or 11lbs. I have 15x4 wheels in the front with radials.

I like the look of a 17/15 combo and then when I get the extra cash Ill order a 17 for the rear to drive around on..

So I could do a Radail up front and a tube in the slick? Somethin Ill look into..
