you really need to search. this has been covered hundreds of times.

talking about putting 315's on stock wheels can result in thread lock or deletion. do not do it. nittos run really thin but that's still frowned upon. do 285's if you MUST go wider than stock. that's what i have. otherwise look into new wheels or get yours widened.

someone a while back had their stock rims widened so they could use 315's, maybe thats what you're thinking of....

doesn't always look bad, but you're running one of the narrowest 315's made, on a rim that is slightly wider than stock. i've seen bfg 315's on stock 9" wide wheels in person, and it just looks hilarious.

original poster, if you want wider tires just do 285's. i see no point in buying a 315 that's no wider than most 295's just so you can say you have 315's.

also, you may want to do a search on sumi htrz's before purchasing, i will not comment as i have never owned them, but there's a reason i never will.

Go with a 285, thats big as i'd recommend safely. Do the right thing stay away from a 315 on a stock wheel, and try a search next time.

they don't look too bad at all, but telling someone that 315's fit stock wheels fine is very misleading. yes some fit okay, but most are a bad idea.

I would never put any other brand 315 on. Nittos just run small. The next size down for a 17 is 275/40, that will look smaller than your factory tires.

im sorry but that looks like tit dirt to me... not very good angles of the rim and tire, im sure you just dug these pics out of your comp but i can tell they are bulging and they dont look right... do you know that if you put a 315 on a 9in wheel your still only gettin 9" worth of traction, so all your doing is wasting your money, not that 315's are a lot more but still, not to mention it calls for MORE weight when the tire does not fit the wheel properly so you might feel vibrations (not that it will out vibrate your lt1 driveshaft lol (friends lt1 driveshaft sucks) unless you got yours replaced) but still... iunno just my opinion looks like a terd and i would never do it, im sorry if it feels like im bashing you im not im just expressing my opinion and your car is the example... cause if you look at the pic from the back and look at the inside it bulges a lot more on the insdie the the outter... iunno maybe it's just me, i work at a tire shop and see this **** almost everyday... i wouldnt recommend it and the stickies back my up here... just get the recommended size tire or by wider wheels...

The 285/40-17 is the next step down. And with the Nittos, its the DRs that run narrow. I have Nitto 555s in 315/35-17 and they are an inch wider than the DRs in the same size.

Heres my thread about my WIDENED WS.6 wheels, with Nitto 555s in 315/35-17s https://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-ti...pics-here.html

Looks stock from the side:

Nice and fat outback!
