Default Nitto 555R VS BF Goodrich Comp T/A

I've got to order two new back tires for my hawk tomorrow and I'm trying to decide between the Nitto 555R's and the BF Goodrich Comp T/A drag radials. Which one is better for hooking up off the line? My current tires are 275/40/17 so I'll probably be buying them in the same size.

If you never (ever) drive the car in the rain, the BFG's hook better. But, if your looking for a replacement street tire, go for the Nitto's.

So the BFG's will hook better when it's dry but they won't go in the rain? You mean it will hydroplane or something or do you mean it will spin a lot trying to take off in the rain? I daily drive my hawk during the summer so it will probably have to go in the rain quite a few times.

Well just look at them and tell me which tire you think is gonna give you trouble in the rain?

As you can see there is almost no channels on the BFGs for the water to get out from under the tire. The nitto isnt alot better but it does have better water channels. I drove my camaro with Nittos out back and it was ok in the rain, not as good as the Eagle F1s but then again the F1s wouldnt hook in a straight line as well. Life is full of compromises.

My half bald Nitto 555R's are perfect in the rain unless your gonna be a meat head and romp on the gas.
