Default Skinny front tires: weight vs streetability

I just sold my Draglite front runners with Moroso Drag Specials mounted on them. One reason was that I would like to get Prostars with a more streetable tire so that I can drive to the track on them instead of having to swap them there. I know that Mickey Thompson makes a 4-ply Sportsman with an 8-ply rating, but they weigh 19 lbs each (compared to 10 lbs for the Morosos). There's also a 16 lb version of that same tire but I read that they are for cars weighing under 3,000 lbs (I have a full weight Camaro). Are there any other options for a somewhat streetable skinny tire?

i run the arizonian metric radials. i have put about 15k miles on them so far, they handle much better than the bias ply tires because of the harder sidewall

Just buy the better fronts (Mickeys) and call it good. Then add some more Go Fast parts to make the skinnies usefull...I wouldnt be worried about weight in my 12 second car..
