Default Need Summer tires good in Rain 2002 WS6

So I have come to that time when all my tires need to be replaced. I currently run BF Goodrich 275/40R17 G force sport tires. I was wondering what you guys suggest I replace all of these with? I need a tire that is only for summer since the car really isn`t driven in cold weather and also will be able to be ok in the rain if it should arrise. Any Ideas?

Nexen n3000. I'm about to put my new ones on, there's a thread here somewhere with nothing but good reviews.

Both these and the nexen's are a step down from BFG, but I liked my riken raptors. Good cheap tires, descent in rain, and they surprisingly hooked ok for a cheap street tire.

Both Michelin PS2's and Goodyear F1 GS D3's are awesome tires in the rain . If your wallet can support the PS2's , you wont regret them . D3's are cheaper .

Depends on your budget....For a "medium priced" performance tire, the Fuzion ZRi is a good tire. I have a set on my Z-28....

GS-D3's are amazing in the rain! Had a set for about four years. Replacing mine soon, but they are a three year tire, so you'd best wear em down within that time frame. They didn't do so good on a non-DD car, they dried out at about the 3 year mark. Hooked up fine for streets on a bolt on car.

I would highly recommend taking a close look at the Nitto NT05 Max Performance.

I would definally recommend a set of the bfg kdw2 the new design. They are now also in a 275/40/17. I just purchased a set for the front.

Read, research and learn, use the pulldown menu for comparison test- list goes from highest performance category to lowest:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testSearch.jsp
Or just go to these links:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=118
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=118

Proof they arent full of it:

If you're gonna ante up for new tires and want serious traction for the street, you cant go wrong with any of these: they will blow the doors off ANY other tire out there, especially including the above referenced tires, and yes, even in the rain they still excell. Nuff said.

yeah.....too bad none of those tires are available in common f-body sizes, other then the XS, which has bad wet traction.

I'm running the GS D3's, they work great in the rain.

I completely agree. I'm getting ready to replace my GS D3's...after 33k miles. They were great in all weather conditions (never really gets much below 45 here in So-Cal), and especially in the rain. I'm only torn because of the price, so I'm considering the BFG KDW2 as an alternative.

Yeah my last 275/40-17s were BFG G-force Sports which I then replaced with Potenza Re760s. Very good tire on dry pavement. They are a street tire so they still break loose on dry pavement in 1st if you give them too much gas.

What's interesting is the tread pattern. They are asymmetric but not directional, so you could rotate them all over the car if you wish.

I just ordered a set of the BFG KDW 2's (275/40-17), should be here tomorrow hopefully. Right now the car has yokohama es 100's (275/40-17) on the back and they are garbage.
