Factory polished wheels are clearcoated, and most likely yours would be also (I presume they are not factory, but factory-style replacements).

If you're using a metal polish and the polish does not turn black almost immediately (within say 20 seconds), you are not polishing aluminum. Aluminum polish is too aggressive for wheel clearcoat, and you're probably just scratching it up. Try a plastic polish -- Mothers or Meguiar's should do -- see how that goes. You can use a PowerCone if you want to save some time.

Wheel Wax is more of a sealant/dust repellant than a polish.

I used mothers with mother power ball yes it turned black super fast and my hands r still cramping up that's how hard I was wet sanding , I'm going to paint these hoes black , its too hard keeping polish wheels clean

same as mine...I only did one wheel and takes a long time.
Might want to just do one every weekend.

You can see how mine came out next time we see each other.
I used Clear coat remover then 2000....I'll have to check on that.
