You are to use the recommended PSI by the car manufacturer. Plain and simple. If you add weight to the car then your PSI number will also increase. Wheel size will also vary this number slightly (~2-4). You are wrong if you think any different.

The PSI rating on the sidewall of a tire is the max PSI a tire holds, it does not account for vehicle weight or driving conditions.
