OEW C5's with 275/40R17 tires

OEW C5's with 275/40R17 tires I want to take the stock wheels off my 02 FB and replace them with 17" OEW C5 DD's (54 ET). The LS1 sticky says I'm OK with 275/40's, but the referenced calculators say they won't fit w/o mods. Am I OK with the 275's w/o a BFH?

if you would have to do the BFH mod then i must have done something wrong then cause if your talkin about the 17x9.5's all the way around i had the C5's put on my camaro with 275/40/17 Nitto NT555's and they dont scrub no where and ya know the Firebirds have a lil more play in the rear than us camaro guys so you shound be fine with em and runnin that tire size
