Default Front tires rubbing... fitment issue

Okay, I recently picked up a pair of used 285/40/18 tires for my front c5z replicas. They rub the black plastic part in the front of the fender when I turn. I have a set of 295/35/18's on the back, I was wondering if those would fit the front wheels and be wider but not as tall if that makes any sense. As long as its shorter it should work. The wheels are c5z motorsports 18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 back. Could I just swap the tires front to back and call it a day? Searching really didn't help me on this one.

If you were to run a 285/35/18 or a 275/35/18 up front you would be Okay , a 285/40/18 is over 1" taller than a stock height tire.

Yeah I realize this now, after I have the tires. What I need to know is if the 295/35/18 on the back will fit the front wheel without rubbing. I can't really take a guess at it though.

Yeah, a 295/35/18 isn't too tall it's within the factory tire height range of 25.65" to 26.18".
FYI, the narrowest recommended wheel width for a 295 is 10".
