Default Widest tire on stock 16 in?

Whats the widest tire i can fit on my stock 16 inch rims on my 98 Camaro? I have 245/50ZR16s right now

255/50/16 because it is an 8 inch wheel

Ive gone far as a 295/50/16 BF Goodrich radial t/a.
then i went 255/50/16.
Now 245/50/16.

did you have any rubbing issues with the 295s? And that was on the OE rims?

pics??? 295 i believe are good for a 10-10.5" tire if im correct. so u managed to some how fit a tire that is 2" wider on a stock 16"????

Yes they were rubbing just a lil. BFH Mod. =]
I used Half inch spacer on both sides.
Yes they were on stock 16x8 rims.
The 295/50/16 was made to fit a 8-10 inch wheel.

Damn^^ Looks like it needed a lift This thread caught my eye cuz my Xtreme needs new tread and i think they are the same width. I figured a 245 would be just right

I have Air Shocks. (retro)

They do have em. I believe they are 275/55/16 but on drag radial.
