The stock studs are 1.5" and weak. I have 2.5" ARP studs on the front, which still won't pass NHRA tech as the stud doesn't pass into the head of the lug (especially since I'm running a 5/16" spacer). Still a ton better than the stockers, and they'll probably be ok. I do want to grind the front calipers to eliminate the spacer and therefore get 5/16" more thread engagement.
If you want to do it right the first time then get those 3.25" ARP studs, which admittedly cost twice as much as the 2.5" studs and look goofy with the stock wheels (if you're still using stock wheels sometimes) but will pass NHRA tech and will give extra peace of mind. I'm definitely going to get the 3.25"s for the rear.
Has anybody here ever broken a 2.5" ARP wheel stud? Just curious.
