Depending on what size "affordable" wheels you want to widen (let's say in the $500-$700 range), spending another $400 to widen them will still put your pocket book ahead of the game when comparing to their custom made counterparts.
Somewhere to the tune of AT LEAST $2,000, so bear that in mind. That's not to say some nice custom wheels wouldn't be a great addition to your car OP, but if you weren't planning on buying a set of CCWs or Fikses, etc., wheel widening is a healthy alternative.

so i found a wheel i really like.. its the tork imaging only problem is that they only make them in 19x9... i really want a 19x11 for the back.. so if anyone out there has had their rims widened i would really apreciate a name number and price of somewhere that does it.. i got a price of 250 a wheel already.. just seeing if i could find somewhere a bit cheaper thanks

Weldcraft.com. A lot of people swear by this place, idk though, I've never dealt with them. But like what Gaunt said though, how many people can say they bought let's say a new set of 10 Spoke SS's brand new that are 11,11.5, or hell even 12in wide? Or narrowed? That's what some people don't realize but then that's there preference though.

So for guys with stock widened wheels, are these fitting with no problems or are they needing clearance on the inner fender wells? I want to widen my 10 spokes to run a 315. Also, is the traction really that much better??? Is it worth it to go from a 275 to a 315?

I live 20 minutes form Weldcraft, and a lot of the local guys have had work done by them, and there work is top notch. Usually after they are done, balancing the wheels requires very little weights, usually better balance than from the factory. Nice for the guy who wants the stock wheel look but wider rears for traction and stealth, if you can call 315's stealth.
