Default will there be much difference?

will there be much difference in performance going from a 9 inch rim with a 275 tire to a 8.5 rim with 255 tire? rim size will be from a 17 to 19. thanks

Absolutely there will be a difference... you're adding rotational weight by going to a larger wheel. I'll bet good money the first combination was lighter than the second... even if you are going to a slightly smaller width tire. You'll know right away if it's a difference you can feel from the seat of your pants or not.

i can deal with the slight increase in weight, what about traction though?
