According to tirerack.com, an 11.5" tread width is the widest street tire in the 315 / 35 / 17 size - having said that, the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (with a tread width of 11.2") is the tire to use; IMHO it's just plain fantastic - Dry or Wet.
(I currently have the 285's, but I also want the 315's)

The GSD3's are the widest nowadays. Since BFG changed the tread style a few years ago, not sure what the width is now. The old BFG tread style tires are pretty freaking wide though, I'm sure they are close still. I just recently got my old BFG's to fit with no spacers. A lot of work!

A buddy of mine recently bought the new Nitto street tires (not sure which) and they were ALOT wider than his Sumi's were... they have been pretty decent for a street tire so far and were pretty cheap...

Neither, Stock replacement shocks and Drop Zone 1.8" spring + removed rear isolator and cut 3/4" off the front of the upper control arm where it meets the spring.
The rear tires are tucked, had to roll the lip and hammer the inner fender well. Ride quality sucks so bad, but I dont race so I dont care, it looks good.
