wheel well modding with C5 DD's??
wheel well modding with C5 DD's?? i got my wheels today and as soon as i got home from work i tried to put them on, however i ran into a little problem. while test fitting the rear wheels 18x10.5 i realized that the rim/tire were touching the bumpstop bracket in the wheel well i was wondering if anybody else had this problem or if maybe i got the wrong offset or something. thanks everybody!

All you need to do is grind the bump stop a bit and hammer the close spots in the inner fender well. If you have never heard of this, its basically called the BFH mod. Everyone with your wheels does it to ensure no scraping.

i noticed a few differences in that article the rims he was using were .5" wider than mine and the tires i am using are only 305 his were 315 but seems like itd be easy enough ill have to do the same

id put em on and see if it hits anywhere first, if not then take the car a couple miles up the road and see if it scrubs anywhere after driving it then go from there cause you can have a million people tell you something on here and it be completly diff on your car cause some say they got by without doing anything and some say they had to do the BFH mod and do the bumpstops so its based on your car

Well let me put it this way...
I have the same exact wheels that you do (along with tons of forums members). I and they had the same problem that you do now, and cured it with this fix, which is the only fix available unless you want to buy narrower wheels.
Grind a little bumpstop bracket, pound a few close spots out, and spray with rubberized undercoating and...wallah!

Verdad Gallardo that write-up worked great, with my 305's i didnt have to hammer anything just grind down the bumpstop bracket and the stop itself it does sit close to the inner wheel well but i cycled through full suspension travel a few times and they never hit anywhere
