The preferred size for 18" is 275/35/18. It's nearly identical to the stock tire height compared to the 40 series which is too tall.

your stock tire is circa-25.6", and like BLKTA said the 275/35 is pretty much the same
the 275/40 is 26.7" tall
it'll fit without any problems, but your speedo will be off slightly
and your gear ratio (numerically) lowers
